Just opened a project (.mdm-file), selected the .indd-file and the .xlsx-file. Loading starts, crashes immedtiately. It worked before without a problem. I am not sure if this is because of an adobe or excel-update.

I NEED THIS TO WORK RIGHT NOW…I HAVE A DEADLINE!

Please copy and paste the info from the diagnose panel.

Let’s do a few things parallel:

    1. Please send us a feedback report once you restarted the app right after a crash and make sure you activate the checkbox to include additional infos. Then we receive the logs and can dig into it.

    2. If its urgent: Please send us the project file and a massively reduced excel file (delete all data except lines 1+2), include the indesign file with links and fonts OR remove them first so we can open it without needing to install them. We guarantee as stated in our privacy policy to use this data only for debugging and delete it afterwards. Send it to support@toolboxcode.com

    3. If the app wants to send a crash report right after restart, please send it.

Once we’ve received the necessary info we’ll check it asap.

    As first step:

    Did you …

    1. Update to the latest version?
    2. Restart your mac?

Edit: As you can see in the changelog we’ve fixed a lot of crash bugs in 1.3.4.4 https://mydatamerge.com/changelog/

    Thanks for the fast reply.

Update to the latest version? Restart your mac? > CHECK.

Please send us a feedback report once you restarted the app right after a crash and make sure you activate the checkbox to include additional infos. Then we receive the logs and can dig into it. > CHECK

PS: There is no checkbox thats called “include additional infos”.

Here is the info from the diagnose-panel.

Thank you for providing the feedback.

We’ve checked the attached log an it doesn’t contain any valuable information about the crash. This usually points to the files.
Can we get access to them as written in my first reply?

Additionally: Does a crash dialog appear after crash + restart app? If so, please send it also (and tick the checkbox)

You didn’t react for a few days, did the issue disappear?

We still tried to find an issue with the rare data we received to debug (it’ll still be great to have access to the files).
    Could you please check if:

    • Your InDesign document contains Links with status of either “missing” or “outdated – needs to be updated”?
    • Your InDesign document contains Fonts with status of “missing” ?

The issue is resolved as there were linked pdf files with status of missing in the indesign document, because someone renamed them.
May i suggest that MDM gives a hint and/or an error message if this is the case. This would be very helpfull to the user for debuging purpose.

That’s already solved in the newest update 1.3.5! Just hit “MyDataMerge” and “Check for updates”. https://mydatamerge.com/changelog/
