Hey there,
I think this tool could be really helpful, but…
why is the Autolink function not working? Not with my own dummies just containing 1 placeholder and one corresponding 1 data item? It also won’t work with your own dummy data which I’ve just downloaded. I want to work with approximately 90 placeholders so it would be quite handy…
I work on a Macbook Pro, macOS Catalina,
latest Indesign 2020 and Excel also up-to-date.I always end up with the red circle with the exclamation mark.
Looking for help!
And it would also be quite helpful if the placeholder would be in order (a–z or how it’s arranged in the excel for example)
Best,

Autolink feature is a stable and basic feature and there haven’t been issues before. So im pretty positive we’ll find a solution!
Autolink features requires exakt naming of placeholder AND data title.Example:
my-placeholder in InDesign requires “my-placeholder” as data title. Beware of spaces and upper/lowercase!Can you confirm you checked this?
Aditionally do you have the recent version 1.5.5?
Could you go to menu > help > diagnostics and copy the information here? (you might mark a post as private so only you and the team will see it)Official MyDataMerge Team

2020-05-26 at 11:07 am #13153PatStaffHi Christoph – a crash isn’t a solution :)
Fortunately it seems like you did sent us the crash report. There was only one in the last hour – It’s anonymized so we do not know directly if it was from you. But if it was yours the explanation is simple: A macOS bug regarding the NSUserDefaults (where Apps can save informations) leaded to this issue. A restart solves this. If you need further (technical) infos on this just let me know.
