Something to try to speed things up. Instead of closing the document after each record is exported/saved/closed would there be a way to revert the document. seems like a lot of time is wasted waiting for the template to open each time. This would be especially useful for the times when InDesign documents aren’t being saved out. I am using the PDF workflow with 2000 records. Watching it open… populate… export… close. Could be Open… Poplulate… export… revert… Populate… export… revert…etc. Seems like it would at least speed things up by 30%. Which for me is about an hour faster.

thank you for the Feedback!
There are a lot of different ways MyDataMerge handles merging data. It always depends on your setup.
If you have styling enabled or use grep text actions it works exactly as you describe it.Would you share your project file (go to menu > package) with your InDesign file and Database with support@toolboxcode.com (you could copy and paste dummy content in your database before – check this link here)
Then we could have a closer look and help you more efficiently.

2020-04-28 at 3:29 pm #12920rskinnerCustomerText styling looks to be updating but it does seem like it is closing a document after every PDF is created based on the log.
Files sent… I did try and updated to the newest version of the software and that just hung after one PDF was created.
don’t get me wrong this app is doing some amazing stuff!

2020-04-29 at 12:34 pm #12938rskinnerCustomerYes please i didn’t notice the time zone difference… I am EST the original time would have been 2am for me. Can we do something in the next few hours?
2020-04-29 at 3:24 pm #12942PatStaffGreat you could talk with stefan. He showed my your product details and i recognized you have an old version (current 1.5.2, yours 1.4.5.2). Stefan sent you an actual one. Please try that and tell me if the issue is fixed for you. As far as i can see this, the issue you showed to stefan (closing file) was fixed in 1.4.5.3 (one release after yours).

2020-04-29 at 3:37 pm #12945rskinnerCustomeroh i haven’t received it yet… I think our company firewall might be blocking it. I just sent my personal email address to try.
2020-04-29 at 6:21 pm #12950rskinnerCustomerThat did resolve the issue… Went from taking 18 second per PDF to 9-10! Thank you.

Still this is too slow. 2-4 seconds max with your setup. Please check the additional recommended solution (by mail) according a known bug in osx mojave.
If you have the possibility check it on a 10.15 macOS. The additional license is valid another week.

2020-04-30 at 1:36 pm #12965rskinnerCustomerSeems there is a bug in Mojave saving files to the Desktop. I changed my save location to my documents folder and things went to the 2 second export… AMAZING!
