    Hi Hubert

and welcome aboard. We’ll get things sorted together, no worries :)
This error is an error InDesign sends us that we do not catch yet directly.

    Please do the following:

    • Right after the error appears in MyDataMerge go to MyDataMerge menu > help > Send Feedback
    • Fill in your E-Mail used on the website here , add some text and – important! – tick the checkbox to include the log data. Then we will receive it and can have a look

    Regards
    Pat

    Hi Hubert,

Then i assume that the data from the JOT-Form produces the error. Mixed data often means mixed encoding (InDesign doesn’t like that).

According the ” issue, theres an option on the import screen, “CSV > gear icon” that says “Sanitize”.
You might try that one – although i cannot guarantee it works as expected with mixed encodings.

Additionally try that: import it in Excel, then EXPORT it again as CSV which will usually create the correct encodings.

    EDIT: Whats “RL”?

If you mean Linebreaks …. CSVs are BY DEFAULT not capable of supporting linebreaks. The way you do it is correct. You can use MyDataMerges native Tags so MyDataMerge will do the replacement for you. set #LINEBREAK# for a hard return or #SOFTLINEBREAK# for a soft return

Yes. I’ve made the “whole thing” work using a Python script.

It formats everything and removes all the breaks (soft and hard) in the .csv produced by Airtable.

Obviously, Jotform and Airtable doesn’t work the same way ;(

It’s just one more step but I don’t care because now it’s working like a charm and I can use MyDataMerge and watch it… working for me 😎

    Thanks for your support.
