    Hello! I am on the free version of this trying to test if it’s a solution for the company I work for. I’m rather new, so I might be missing some simple fixes.

     

    I have an .indd file with 4 data fields (two text, two image). When I first tried the merge, it would pick up all 4 fields but the images linked with URLs showed errors. When I merge today, it’s not reading the image fields at all, just the two text fields.

     

    Ultimately, I’m trying to get MyDataMerge to pull the linked images from a public online drive and drop them into the .indd file. Is this possible?

    Welcome aboard :)

    First of all: Do you have the newest version 1.8.2? If not you can update directly from the menu.

    Did you setup your two image fields as “Replace with image” and did you specifiy that images must be downloaded? Check the gear icon next to the button “Replace with image”

    If so, does the preview show your images?

    Edit: if the public drive is available without login its possible. You can also download the images (as workaround). MyDataMerge can take care of adjusting the pathes

    I had the version previous to that one, but I just tried to update and it says that version isn’t compatible with my mac pro (2020). I updated my computer fully and is still says not supported by my system.

    I can only get the MyDataMerge-1.8.1 to download on my computer (macOS Monterey version 12.5.1). I’ve gone back to that version and I’m still having issues with it detected the image fields from my .indd document.

    what do you exactly mean by “issues with it detected the image fields”?

    1. Do the fields appear in MyDataMerge when importing the layout?
    2. Or is it the “Autolink” function that does not work for the images?

    Please specify.

    EDIT: Regarding the incompatibility issue we’re currently re-releasing it. It was (unfortunately) released only for M1 Macs instead of INTEL and M1 Macs. Please try to update again later that day.
