    Hi,

Everything seems to be working ok except the images do not match the record. Any Ideas?

Hi Ben and welcome to the forum

Could you specify the issue more detailed:

Is an error shown? If so what does it say?

Does the preview show the correct image?

Is the correct path shown if you deactivate “Show image” in the preview?

Do you have the current version installed? Check Help > Diagnostics and copy the content over here.

    Don’t worry, we’ll find a solution

    Hi,

No error, the file is generated fine except the pictures do not match the text record.

    Preview show correct image

These images are coming from a URL within the dataset

    MyDataMerge 1.5.5 (11903)
    Adobe InDesign 2020 (15.0.1.209)
    Microsoft Excel (16.39)
    OSX (10.15.5)
    MacBookPro11,2

    Thanks

    Hi Ben,

So you download the images right?

Could you please go to File > Package and send us that for further investigation to support@toolboxcode.com?

You may remove all lines from your datasource except title and 3 lines for testing

Thank you for sending the files.

I checked them and fixing is easy, the layout isn’t set up properly. Check this link for more detailed info: https://mydatamerge.com/knowledge-base/layout-exists/

    In short:

All of your placeholders have a loose state, the are not connected to each other so MyDataMerge doens’t know which image placeholder belongs to the appropriate text placeholders.

You need to group your sets of placeholders and THEN duplicate a group and position it on your layout. The group is needed to show MyDataMerge which placeholders belong to each other and then the position order is used for merging records.

E.g. first group left page top, second group left page middle, third group left page bottom and so on -> this order will be used for merging.
You may modify image frames inside the group, just don’t ungroup it or re-group it after your done.
