    Hi Ryan

This error can have a lot of potential issues as reason.

    Best would be:

Right after the issue appears, send us Feedback:

    • Go to Menu > Help > Send Feedback
    • Enter a name, email and some text
    • Tick the checkbox to send us the log files (important!)

    Let us know once done

    Regards

    Pat

Thanks, Pat. I changed the structure of the URL data in my source file to just use access to a directory like ‘https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1V9Md5EuKrGrherjvmkgzyVLqe8boVebs’ but the same error persists. I have again sent the logs for review.

    This was a misunderstanding.

Services like Google Drive do not work! As the links do NOT provide direct access to the file(a user must still click download).

Url file access only works with public file URLs (not Google drive)

Did you at least select to download the files? It seems like you work with local pathes but provided a URL… This is a setting in the placeholder.

Use the setup wizard in the import screen and it will give you a custom tutorial.

Hi Pat–sorry I was unclear. I have changed my approach. Instead, I am using static text for all records (“Click here”) and using hyperlink that is a public URL (example for the first record is https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1V9Md5EuKrGrherjvmkgzyVLqe8boVebs) for each record in my data source. Expectation is that the interactive PDF exported will have the text like “Click here” and this text will have hyperlink to the given URL for the record. I have used this same approach in the past without issue, but even after clearing the placeholder and setting it up again, I am getting same error. I have sent logs for review.

Everything seems to be setup correctly with regards to the hyperlink: https://ibb.co/DHb1dGcs

However, I think the issue is something corrupted with the project file. I relaunched MDM and started a new project with the same INDD and XLSX files and recreated the placeholders and now everything is as expected. In the future, I’ll try this approach if I’m getting repeated errors even after fixing an underlying issue.
