    Hey there,

I’m wondering if mydatamerge can do the following:

I’m trying to create a catalogue of products. All the basics of creating a single layout and merging that onto a multi-page doc with the text and images linked is all straight forward within the normal indesign datamerge tool.

Where I’m stuck (and I hope that mydatamerge can help) is this:

each product in the catalogue might have a set of properties that I want to add within each listing. Ideally in a table format. For example: Product 1 might have 4 properties, each with their own price (Blue: $10, Red: $15 etc).

But the number of properties can be anything from 0 to 10 so I don’t know if there’s a way to do this type of “nested data display”?

Or am I overthinking it and there’s another way to achieve that type of thing? I don’t want up to 10 versions of the same product spread across multiple pages.

    thanks in advance

    Hi Attila

MyDataMerge 2 is not capable of doing this out of the box, although it can handle a lot of cases that InDesign can’t handle.
If you’re looking for professional catalog software, you might take a look at Easy Catalog.

We’re currently working on (very early state) MyDataMerge 3 which will have capabilities of doing this. But release is quite far away right now.
