    Hi i have a csv file from a client.

    There are some names with special characters in like “René”. When I open the CSV in Texteditor I see it correctly. However, if I import it to mydatamerge  its replaced by weird signs.

    Please help!

    Hi Tania,

    this sounds like an encoding issue. When you drop the CSV file on MyDataMerge, a popup will come up where you can select item delimiter and encoding.

    Just try the different encodings until you got the correct one.
    Common standard is UTF-8, you may ask your client for sending you the files in UTF-8 in future.

    Ah solved! it WAS UTF-8, I just never used that option.
